The Data Banks periodically update the transaction file format specifications. Users are notified at least one month in advance of an update to code lists. Users should expect code lists to be updated quarterly. Updates to the file formats themselves are also required periodically. Users will be notified six months in advance of updates to the Data Bank file formats.
